Hidden Gem

Zep and Segale outshine the field at one of the toughest tracks in the Bay. In the end, Zep defeats Segale on the first playoff hole to win his first ever tournament in his rookie season.

Hiddenbrooke played tough like a major. Elevated tee boxes, tree lined boxes, small landing areas and heavy winds reaped havoc on most of the field. Zep was unphased and shot an amazing 8 under par in round 1 with Segale closest to the leader at even par.

The second round was even more of challenge as players went back to the Palmer tees. Zep played great, but ran into a few tough tee shots that didn't favor a lefty. A couple big numbers and Segale was back in the mix. Veej and Barbano battled it out for 3rd. Veej showed moments of brilliance but had a few too many mistakes to catch up to Barbano for 3rd. It was great to have him back after missing the first couple tourneys.

Congrats to Zep for getting his first win and a couple team points in the process. Always nice to max out on the day. Pretty impressive when the average score was approaching 20 over par. Good news for the rest of us, his cap dropped considerably in the process.

Next stop… the Masters.
